The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office full-service SWAT Team is comprised of highly motivated and dedicated deputies who volunteered to undergo extensive physical, psychological, decision-making and firearms proficiency testing to join.

 

The extraordinary demands of this team require members to train weekly and remain available to respond to the most critical and dangerous incidents faced by law enforcement on a moment notice.

 

The SWAT team is charged with handling high-risk warrant service, high-risk arrests, complex surveillance operations, armed and barricaded suspects, hostage situations, civil unrest and active violence incidents.

 

The expertly trained members of our SWAT team are well equipped to handle any emergency that arises utilizing a variety of tools at their disposal including armored vehicles, advanced night vision, a robot and non-lethal force options.
