The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office employees a full-service K-9 Unit. Patrol K-9 teams specially trained narcotics detection, tracking and suspect apprehension work alongside our patrol deputies. Our four Patrol K-9s are German Shepherds.

The Sheriff’s Office also utilizes a Bloodhound team to track and locate missing persons. In 2019 K-9 Grace was added to our team and replaced her predecessor K-9 Putnam who was retired in 2022.
